Gentofte Library – A Mobile Cultural Platform on Three Wheels

In a unique collaboration between Gentofte Municipality, Jægersborg Library and local educators, Laplandar was transformed into a mobile cultural platform – built to meet children where they are.

The Laplandar L-250 serves as a rolling library, puppet theatre, creative workshop and storytelling stage. Outfitted with secure compartments and fold-out modules, it allows staff to set up interactive learning environments – whether in schoolyards, parks, or public spaces.

By rethinking what a library can be, this mobile solution enables educators to spark curiosity and engagement in new settings. And because the bike is modular and built for professional use, it can be adapted for a wide range of educational and cultural activities.
