Using electric cargo bikes in the inner city

With a focus on recycling the city of Odense put up recycling stations in the pedestrian zones of the city. It is the work of Odense renovation to empty and maintain these recycling stations as well as service the bins and signs put up by the city in the pedestrian areas. Therefore, they have modified their Laplandar bike with a welded on toolbox and have mounted a hand operated water pump.

Occasionally they also collect discarded furniture and electronics to be recycled. The Laplandar bikes have enabled them to work at all hours in the often busy pedestrian streets.

Odense renovation is responsible for emptying the recycling bins in the pedestrian zones of the city, therefore they rely on Laplandar cargo bikes to access the areas often impossible to reach by van.
The recycling is brought back to the depot for further sorting by the different riders from the municipality. The cargo bikes are easy to use and have multiple riders taking advantage of the same bikes.
To clean and maintain signs and bins in the pedestrian zones the municipality have modified their Laplandar bike with a welded steel basket on the front for rags and cleaning supplies.
To allow for proper cleaning of larger signs the municipality have installed a manual water pump bolted into the cargo bed of the Laplandar cargo bikes.
The electric cargo bike easily carries the various cleaning supplies and tools needed for the various maintenance jobs that often crop up.
The tools brought into the city are under lock and key in the special steel box the municipality have bolted fast on the Laplandar cargo bike.
